Hungary is home to 5,250 Latter-day Saints, organized into one stake and two districts. Legal recognition for the Church came in 1988, though the Church has maintained a small presence in the country since the late 1800s. Members in Hungary currently travel many hours to the Freiberg Germany Temple to participate in temple worship.[1]”Prophet Announces Eight New Temples at April 2019 General Conference,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 7 Apr. 2019.
