Description

Iloilo City is the capital of Iloilo province in Central Philippines. The city is about 400 miles south of Manila.

History

Church growth in the Philippines has been among the fastest in the world since it officially opened for missionary work in 1961. On 2 April 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Iloilo Philippines Temple at the April 2023 General Conference.[2]”The Church of Jesus Christ Will Build 15 New Houses of the Lord,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 2 Apr. 2023. https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/april-2023-general-conference-new-temples. The Temple was announced in conjunction with 14 other temples.

It was the 12th temple announced for the Philippines. Teguegarao Philippines temple was announced at just before it was.
