On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple at the October 2022 General Conference.[2]”The Church of Jesus Christ Will Build 18 New Houses of the Lord,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 2 Oct. 2022, https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/october-2022-general-conference-new-temples. The Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple will be the tenth temple built in the same city as another operating temple, the Buenos Aires Argentina Temple (1986), making Buenos Aires, Argentina, the tenth city in the world to have more than one temple, following South Jordan, Utah; Provo, Utah; Lima, Peru; St. George, Utah; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Rexburg, Idaho; Santiago, Chile; Mexico City, Mexico; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple will be the seventh temple built outside of the United States in the same metropolitan area as another operating temple, making Greater Buenos Aires the seventh metropolitan area outside of the United States with more than one temple, following the Lima metropolitan area in Peru, the Greater Manila Area in the Philippines, the Guatemala City metropolitan area in Guatemala, Greater São Paulo in Brazil, the Santiago Metropolitan Region in Chile, and Greater Mexico City in Mexico.

Location Announced
The First Presidency of the Church announced on 16 December 2024 that the temple will be built on a 1.56-acre site located at Avenida Cordoba Esquina Reconquista, ciudad autonoma de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
