Description

The country is home to approximately 625,000 Latter-day Saints spread throughout more than 775 congregations. Cusco is in the southeastern part of the country and was the capital of the Inca Empire.

History

The first missionaries arrived in the country in 1956. More than 32 million people live in Peru.

Announcement

On April 3, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Cusco Peru Temple at the April 2022 General Conference. On January 29, 2024, the location of the Cusco Peru Temple was announced as a 2.48-acre site located at Avenida Arcopata 452 in Cusco.
