The Fort Worth Texas Temple will be the sixth temple for The Lone Star State. There are more than 360,000 Latter-day Saints in Texas. Fort Worth, located west of Dallas in north central Texas in the United States, is historically known for its cattle trade. History
Other Texas temples are the neighboring Dallas Texas Temple, Houston Texas Temple, Lubbock Texas Temple, San Antonio Texas Temple, and McAllen Texas Temple. Announcement
On 3 October 2021, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Heber Valley Utah Temple. Location Announced
On October 31, 2022, the location of the Fort Worth Texas Temple was announced as a 9.37-acre site located north of SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in Burleson.[4]”Locations Announced for Six Temples in the Americas,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 31 Oct. 2022. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet.
Temple Rendering

Groundbreaking
The groundbreaking of the Fort Worth Texas Temple was presided over by Elder Jose L. Alonso, a General Authority Seventy and first counselor in the Church’s North America Southwest Area presidency, on Oct. 28, 2023. Local faith, government and civic leaders also attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
