Description
Iquitos is located in Northeast Peru along the Amazon River. It is one of the most populous cities in the country. Peru is home to 630,000 Latter-day Saints spread across nearly 780 congregations.

On 2 April 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Kahului Hawaii Temple at the April 2023 General Conference.[2]”The Church of Jesus Christ Will Build 15 New Houses of the Lord,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 2 Apr. 2023. https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/april-2023-general-conference-new-temples. The Temple was announced in conjunction with 14 other temples.
