On 3 October 2021, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the La Paz Bolivia Temple. On August 28, 2023, the location of the La Paz Bolivia Temple was announced as a 3.8-acre site located near Avenida Los Sauces and Calle 8 de Calacoto in the Calacoto neighborhood of La Paz.
