Description

Natal is the capital and largest city in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. It is located on Brazil’s northeastern coastal tip and is known for its extensive coastal sand dunes. Brazil was the third country outside the United States to have 50 organized stakes.

Announced

On 2 April 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Natal Brazil Temple at the April 2023 General Conference.[1]”The Church of Jesus Christ Will Build 15 New Houses of the Lord,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 2 Apr. 2023. https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/april-2023-general-conference-new-temples. The Temple was announced in conjunction with 14 other temples.

The temple in Natal was the 20th announced temple for Brazil.
