Nelson announced plans to construct the Natal Brazil Temple at the April 2023 General Conference.^[1]”The Church of Jesus Christ Will Build 15 New Houses of the Lord,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 2 Apr. 2023. https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/april-2023-general-conference-new-temples. The Temple was announced in conjunction with 14 other temples.

The temple in Natal was the 20th announced temple for Brazil.

Natal is the capital and largest city in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. It is located on Brazil’s northeastern coastal tip. A 5.53-acre site located on Av. Senador Salgado Filho (BR-101) in the Nova Parnamirim neighborhood of the suburb of Parnamirim has been selected as the location for the temple.

Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 19,800 square feet.
