Progress Updates

Originally, I was posting progress updates on my videos to posts within the hisotry section. I struck upon the idea to do something more dynamic, that I could just update as I go, and this is the result.

I have to admit, I have been completely burned out on 3D. Since my paid work I was doing so much paid work, I didn’t want to do this anymore. Over time, I have fallen WAY behind. Especially with President Nelson’s increased pace of temple announcements.

With the rate things are going, I am unlikely to catch up to the Church, but here is the status of my attempts to do so. I may also eventualy do updates on other projects, remakes and reworks, historic and what not.

Temples Under Construction

Antananarivo Madagascar Temple

  • 11/17/25 – Initial colors, final details in place.
  • 5/5/25 – Continued to add details. No reference for the Celestial Room End, will require me to guess.

Austin Texas Temple

  • 11/17/25 – updated sattelite imagery allowed me to get the temple placed and scaled on site. Still not quite ready to go further with this one, though.
  • 5/2/25 – Have completed all the visible details from the render, anything beyond this will require more information, uch as the landscaping going in on the actual temple. That or complete guesswork.

Benin City Nigeria Temple

  • 11/17/25- Final detals are more or less done on the temple, landscaping has begun in earnest.
  • 5/9/2025- More details added, landscape lined up.

Brazzaville Republic of the Congo Temple

  • 11/18/25-The Church released a render for the Brazzaville Temple shortly before the groundbreaking. I have started the rough in, and some of the details.

Budapest Hungary Temple

  • 11/18/25 – Updated Google Maps allow me to get a bit more of a feel for the layout of the landscaping I have reworked the model a little bit to match the real world location.
  • 5/10/2025-Worked on landscaping. While I can see what they are doing with the landscape, Ic an’t quite see neough to correctly identify what is going on on all sides of the temple. I will likely need to completely rework this before I finish.
  • 5/2/25-Mid levels and details going in, started on landscaping because I liked the staircase.

  • 11/19/25-landscape going in, and fixing model to align with construciton photos.

  • 5/2/25 – Lagos had the official render released a couple of weeks ago. Here is my current progress with that temple.

Lethbridge Alberta Temple

  • 5/2/25 – Some progress on the fine detals, rough in complete.

  • 5/2/25 – Temple mostly done, will start on textures and landscaping next.

  • 5/2/25 – Rough in complete. Fine details have begun going in.

  • 5/2/25 – Rough in in complete, fine details going in.

Santiago West Chile Temple

  • 5/2/25 – Rough in continues, some fine and mid detail completed. This one is difficult. Beside having lots of fiddly curves and unusual shapes, it’s also a straight on perspective for the official render. This makes it harder to get a feel for the size and placement of objects.

  • 5/2/25 – The official render for the Tacloban City Philipinnes Temple was released after my last update post. Here is the progress I have made on that model so far.

Teton River Idaho Temple

  • 08/21/2025 – Video finished and posted.
  • 5/2/25 – Rough in finished, mid and fine level work in progress. I have to admit, I scrapped this one completely, and started over. So I pushed the project until it was just barely farther along than my previous model version. Next time I come around to this one, I should progress a fair bit further.

Vancouver Washington Temple

You ever see a temple design that just grabs your attention and inspires you? This is not one of those designs for me. By the time this render was released, 2 other temples were in progress with almost this exact same design, and McKinney Texas had been released with the same basic format. And I find none of them inspirational. To me, they don’t feel much like what I expect froma temple. It was uninspiring when Auckland was released, and its constant reuse is making the design more generic and bland for me. And then, when McKinney was redesigned, great effort was made to reuse design aspects from this, especially the spire. The result of that one looks proprtionally wrong. Tacoma and Lethbridge are using the same base, with a different spire. While they marginally look better to me, it’s not by much. Still bland and generic.

Wellington New Zealand Temple

  • 11/16/2025 may have gotten caught up in the local landscape. Though not shown in the image, I have a large chunk of the surrounding terrain and bay in the model.
  • Lots of new little details added to this temple, but lots of detail left to go as well.

Bakersfield California Temple

  • 5/2/25 – made progress on the landscape. Helpful when the Church has to provide the city with a plan.

Barcelona Spain Temple

  • 5/9/2025 – Finished the temple as far as coupld be complete. Finished the landscaping as far as could be completed. will need to wait for more details to go further.

Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple

  • 11/20/25-I have been playing around iwth importing Google Earth Data into models. The look is not unapealing.
  • 6/22/2025-The recently released renders for this temple got me excited, and I dug right in. I have been without Internet that whole time, so allow me to update you with all the progress I have made on the model since then.

  • 11/20/25-The Church recently released the render for the Calabar Nigeria Temple. I have begun to rough in the design and start som of the fine details.

Chihuahua Mexico Temple

  • 11/21/25-With the render released in the last few months, I have begun to rough in the design and start som of the fine details.

Cincinnati Ohio Temple

  • 1121/25-some further detailing, and start of landscaping. I have about as fara s I can go without seeing more.
  • 5/27/2025 – Have made some progress on this model, after starting completely over. 4 times. I was never happy with the results, but now I feel like I am on the right track finaly.
  • A render for Cincinnati has allowed me to begin progress on that temple.

  • 11/22/25-I love the look of this temple. I look forward to the day I can finish it.

Colorado Springs Colorado Temple

  • A Render was released today (5 March 2025) for the Colorado Springs Temple, so I tucked intot he design.

Cuernavaca Mexico Temple

  • A render has now been released by the Church. Here is how far I have gotten on it:

Des Moines Iowa Temple

  • With a new render released by the Church, I have begun work on Des Moines Iowa. This one has a design that is both pelasing and has many interesting features.

Fairbanks Alaska Temple

  • Render released, video in progress.

Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple

  • The render was released, and the temple design was so close to the Grand Rapids Michigan design, I ported that over and began modfying it.

Huehuetenango Guatemala Temple

  • Progress for Huehuetenango will be difficult. The lack of a side view will really hinder my attmpts at accuracy. The straight on render also has a tendency to make it a bit more diffuclt to judge the distances between things. Thagt said, a bit of a breakthrough made me feel more comfortable with some of the detaisl I added in, and in the future I should be able to add a fair bit more.

  • Now with a render, I can move forwards on trying to figure out what the temple looks like.

Lone Mountain Nevada Temple

  • Everytime I sit down to work on Lone Mountain, I pick away at it for a bit, with the constant thought in the back of my head that this spire is supposed to get shorter. Then I think that, really, the whole thing could change, then I put it away again till later. So, some mid level detailing, but not much else.

Fairview Texas Temple

  • The Fairviewy Texas Temple (formerly McKinney Texas( Formerly Prosper Texas)) has had some issues, as a consequence, it was announced that the temple would be redesigned. That redesign has since been released, and by the time this post is published, it will have made it’s way into the approval process, and may or may not have been approved by the city.

Mexico City Benemérito Mexico Temple

  • Another temple that had the official render released since the last progress update post. Mexico City Benemerito Temple has fascinating corner pillars that get bigger at the base, giving the temple a unique look. Rough in is complete, mid level detailing has begun.

Missoula Montana Temple

  • Missoula has now had a render released. Here is my progress.

Oslo Norway Temple

  • Fine and mid level details going in, and there were some extremely fine level details on this update.

  • Tampa Florida. Oh, Tampa. I was nearly done, then the Church announced a relocation of the project. Till the Church announces the plans at the new location, I have nothing to go on. So this image remains.

  • Rough in nearly done, mid level and some fine level details in.

Manhattan New York Temple

  • I keep forgetting to add other projects, like renovations, to this update page. I am actually quite a fair bit along on the Manhattan Temple renovation. Or at least, I have made progress on the Facade. Need the roof, and the landscaping. and deciding to do the buildings like in the image below, or to use the ones from my original video.

Salt Lake

  • I I am also in progress with revisions to my 2027 Salt Lake Model, as well as creating other historic temple versions.

Temples I Am Redoing

Singapore Temple

  • 11/17/2025 – of course in the process of trying to make the model more accurate, I decided a complete rebuild was in order. So I got that started.
  • 5/22/2025-The Church has released a new render for the Singapore Temple. On first glance, it would appear that the only thing changed was the entryway, but way back in the treess, the back of the temple has been clarified/extended, and there are small changes all over. As such, I have begun updating my model to match the new information.
