Details
It will be the third built in the Boise metropolitan area. The Boise Idaho Temple was dedicated in 1984, and the Meridian Idaho Temple was dedicated in 2017. At the time of the announcement, Idaho was home to more than 475,000 members of the Church in over 1,225 congregations. Early Church pioneers settled in Idaho in 1855. Several Church presidents are natives of Idaho, including Presidents Harold B. Lee, Ezra Taft Benson, and Howard W. Announcement
On April 6, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Caldwell Idaho Temple at the 195th Annual General Conference. It will be the second house of the Lord in the state. The temple was announced in conjunction with 14 other temples.
