Announcement

Plans to construct the Torreón MexicoTemple were announced by President Russell M. Groundbreaking Announced

On 17 October 2022 it was announced that Elder Hugo Montoya, president of the Mexico Area, will preside at the groundbreaking services for the Torreón Mexico Temple on Saturday, December 10, 2022.[4]”Groundbreaking Dates Announced for Four Temples in Latin America,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints News Release, 17 Oct. 2022.

Groundbreaking

The groundbreaking of the Torreón Mexico Temple was presided over by Elder Hugo Montoya, president of the Mexico Area, on 10 Dececember 2021. Municipal, local and state government representatives also attended.

In his remarks at the groundbreaking, given in Spanish, Elder Montoya said, “This building, as you can see, will be beautiful. [It will be] made with high-quality materials and built with the highest standards.
