Description
San Jose, the third-largest city in California, is located south of the San Francisco Bay area. It is part of Silicon Valley, a major technology hub. California is situated on the west coast of the United States and has nearly 730,000 Church members in approximately 1,150 congregations.

Announced
On 2 April 2023, President Russell M. The Temple was announced in conjunction with 14 other temples.
It was the eleventh temple announced for the state.

A 4.73-acre site where an existing meetinghouse is located at 771 West Fremont Avenue in the suburb of Sunnyvale has been designated as the location for the temple. The existing chapel will be removed to make way for the new temple.
