Details
Spanish Fork is located in southern Utah Valley with Utah Lake to the northwest and the Wasatch Range to the east. Utah, the Church’s world headquarters, was home to more than 2.2 million Latter-day Saints, approximately two-thirds of the state’s population of 3.5 million people.1
History
Latter-day Saints settled Spanish Fork in 1851, which was home to about 50,000 residents at the time of the announcement.
Announcement
On April 6, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Spanish Fork Utah Temple at the 195th Annual General Conference. It is the ninth temple announced for Utah County and the thirty-second for the state. The temple was announced in conjunction with 14 other temples.

Location Announced
The location of the Spanish Fork Utah Temple was announced on 12 January 2026. It will be built on an 8.7-acre site at the corner of 100 South and 2550 East in Spanish Fork, Utah. Plans call for a multistory temple of approximately 80,000 square feet and an accompanying ancillary building.
